New Mexico Bear Skips The Doorbell Entirely

By Webster, Web Correspondent · every story is real · read the original report at 96.3 KKOB

A bear entered a New Mexico home this week the way most uninvited guests do, minus the part where they knock first, making it as far as a young girl's bedroom before the household intervened.

Details remain limited pending the full report, but the incident is confirmed as a bear break-in reaching an occupied bedroom, a category of home invasion this desk has now filed under recurring seasonal business.

Webster notes that at this rate, regional wildlife agencies may need a dedicated form for 'ursine trespass, bedroom, non-fatal,' if only to save time on the paperwork.

For an eyewitness account, Webster located Wile, a coyote who monitors the neighborhood's comings and goings from a respectful distance. His take on bear etiquette, or the lack thereof, follows below.

No injuries were reported, and the bear has since returned to whatever it considers its actual home. Spun and done.

“Bears strolling into bedrooms uninvited is exactly why the rest of us wildlife get blamed for everything around here. I've never once let myself into a house — mostly because the doors are usually locked, which, hint hint, works.” — Wile, local coyote
