Local Bear Logs Unofficial Bout, Judges Unavailable for Comment

A black bear in Southern California has reportedly entered the amateur boxing circuit without so much as a sanctioning body's blessing, caught on camera this week trading blows with a backyard punching bag with what witnesses describe as genuine technique.
According to PetHelpful's report, the animal was filmed on a residential patio delivering a sustained combination of jabs and hooks to the hanging bag, exhibiting a level of comfort with the equipment that suggests this was not an improvised encounter but something closer to a routine.
This reporter has reached out to no boxing commission, because none appear to exist for this weight class, but procedural gaps aside, the footage raises obvious questions: who installed the bag, who left it unsecured, and whether the bear is aware it has no corner man.
Rutherford, a backyard coyote who claims to monitor the neighborhood's patio furniture on a nightly basis, agreed to go on record as an eyewitness to the broader pattern of unsupervised bear activity in the area. His account of the bear's training schedule differs sharply from anything homeowners have reported to wildlife officials.
No official statement has been issued on the bear's amateur status, and at press time the punching bag remains undefeated only in the technical sense that it is still hanging. Spun and done.
“That bear's been training in my cousin's garage since spring, I seen the tape. Folks leave punching bags out, bears get curious — that's just physics, same as trash cans.” — Rutherford, backyard coyote
